我が子供の毎年楽しみにしているイベントは今日、さらしなの里古代体験パークで行われました。猪料理や縄文時代の色々な事を体験出来ます。長男が魚釣り、次男が塩焼き魚喰いを楽しめました。
Today was one of those events that our kids look forward to all year: The Jomon Era Festival at Sarashina-no-sato Ancient Experience Park. You get to dress up as the Jomon's did, practice starting fires by sticks, eat wild boar meat, and lots of other fun stuff. Our oldest son got a kick out fishing with a bamboo rod, and our middle guy pigged out on a fish salted and cooked on a skewer over an open fire.

今日の天気は写真のようにうんと綺麗でした。戸倉上山田温泉の裏の城山の木は色が変わり始めた。信州の紅葉を見においでやす！
As you can see from this picture, it was a perfectly clear autumn day today. The trees on Jyo-yama, the mountain behind our town, are just starting to change colors.

戸倉上山田温泉のそば祭は今日、行われました。その一部としてがこの足風呂。お湯は亀清旅館の提供。同時にハロウィーンもやりました。３００人以上(去年の三倍！）の参加者が今日の一日を楽しんでくれたようです。実行委員長の私がくたびれちゃって、風邪をひいちゃった。まあ、沢山の子供の笑顔があった為に良かったです。
Today was our onsen's soba festival, which included this foot bath. Hot Spring water provided by yours truly. Also taking place today was the Halloween party. 300+ participants (three-times more than last year!) enjoyed the event. Yours truly was the person in charge, and due to complete over-exertion came down with a nasty cold. But seeing all the smiling faces made it all worth-while.

21日の｢ハロウィーン仮装パーティーin戸倉上山田温泉」の為に、今日はパムプキンパッチ(かぼちゃ畑)に行って来ました。今年は人数がえらい増えました。100人前後の見込みが300人になりそう。実行委員長として、うまくいくと良いな！
For this weekend's Halloween party, some other members of the Chikuma Int'l Exchange Assoc. and I drove out to a pumpkin patch. My first time in 3 years to do so. (It was an annual favorite of mine when we were living in Seattle.) We were expecting approx. 100 people but we already have reservations for more than 300! As the person in charge, I hope the event goes well!
