姨捨駅。
可愛いらしい駅舎（隣のトットロから出てきそうな木造の駅舎）で、
珍しいスイッチバック形式となっていて、
そして何と善光寺平と「田毎の月」の姨捨棚田の素晴らしい眺めのある駅。
私はいつも夜景・語り部ツアーを含めて、色々でお世話になっています。
先日はＪＲ社員及び友人のＯさんが声をかけて頂いて、落ち葉拾いを手伝いに行きました。周辺の木から半端じゃない量の葉っぱが落ち来る。姨捨は無人駅の為に、何もしないと葉っぱが大量で溜まるだけ。（駅のボランティアー案内人が一応いるけど、掃除に関しては何もしていないそうです。）そこで、Ｏさんはお越しになる皆様へのおもてなしとして、ボランティアーで落ち葉をいつも拾っています。
今回は私も手伝えて、姨捨駅にちょっとでも恩返しが出来て、嬉しいです。
町興しはこういう単純の所から始まりますね。

Cute station house (like out of an anime movie),
Funky 'switchback' track set up,
And an amazing view of the Zenkoji Plain and the famous moon-reflecting Obasute terraced rice fields.
I often take guests there at night to show them the view from the station platform.
Obasute Station is located in a very woodsy setting, which means it gets inundated with leaves this time of year. Being an un-manned station, ordinarily there is no one to pick up the leaves.
Fortunately, my buddy O-san who works for JR volunteers his time and energy to rake up the leaves several times every fall. The other day, he called me to help out, which I gratefully did as I certainly feel indebted to Obasute Station.
Civic improvement starts with small things like this.
