All who wander are not lost

お出かけの時に、時間の余裕のあると、細い道を通るのが好き。いつ新しい発現ができるか分からないから。先日は屋代の方を通ったら、国道と昔の街道の間の細い道を通ったら、この鳥居とでかい木と出会いました。車を止めて、木を見上げました。特に何も書いてなかったけど、きっとこの木は自分の国より歴史がないだろう。関心と感動！
While out driving, whenever I have some extra time, I like to take side streets and explore back roads. The other day, on a side road between Route 18 and the old Hokkoku Kaido trail in Yashiro, I came across this torii shrine gate and these enormous trees. I just had to stop the car, get out and take a closer look at these massive guys. I didn't see any sign, but I'd guess these trees are older than even my own country. Simple amazing.
