フジテレビ「めざましテレビ土曜日」の松尾みどりアナウンサーとのプロデューサなどの皆様が戸倉上山田温泉に来ました。旅行情報コーナーに戸隠と我が温泉を９月２５日の番組で紹介する予定です。戸隠はおフランスのSylvieさん、戸倉上山田温泉は私がガイドする。外国人の目から見た日本の魅力との特集。機会があれば、是非ご覧になってください。朝７:４０頃OAだそうです。

Midori Matsuo-san, announcer from Fuji TV's 'Mezamashi TV Saturday' show, and the production crew came to shoot some footage here at Togura Kamiyamada Onsen. It's for a travel corner for the show this Saturday, 25-September and will feature current power spot "boom" in Togakushi as well as our onsen. Sylvie from France will be the guide for Togakushi, and I the one for Togura Kamiyamada, showing Japan's attractiveness through the eyes of foreigners. The show will be aired around 7:40am, so catch it if you can.

昨日の日経新聞の長野版で最近に出来た戸倉上山田温泉の英語の散歩地図・グルメガイドが掲載されました。外国人目線で作ったマップという事、注目を浴びています。亀清旅館に泊まっているお客さんにも喜ばれています。「こんなに分かり易い、便利なマップは日本で初めて見た！」と、この地図がなければ分からなかったレストラン、お店を楽しまれた。

そして、先日の東京への宣伝キャラバンで、主な出版社にも褒めて頂きました。「私たちも参考になりました！レストランの説明は特に分かり易かった」と言ってくれました。

これで戸倉上山田温泉のイメージアップになっていけばいいよね。

Yesterday's Nagano version of the Nikkei newspaper had an article on Togura Kamiyamada Onsen's new English Walking Map / Gourmet Guide. They liked the fact that it was designed by foreigners for foreigners. Lots of our foreigner guests here at Kamesei have been using the map lately. I've gotten comments from our guests that no other town in Japan has such easy to understand and helpful information. Using the map, they were able to experience new restaurants and shops that they otherwise would not have known about.

And during my marketing "caravan" to Tokyo the last couple of days, several publishers commented favorably on the map, too. One major map maker went so far as to say they learned some tips from my map, especially about the friendly way the various restaurants were introduced.

I hope the map is helping to further improve the image of our onsen town, Togura Kamiyamada.

毎週木曜日に、長野県は最新の観光情報をメールマガジンで発信しています。先週のは戸倉上山田温泉の特集があります。県庁でインターンしている太田さんは千曲市出身なので、女将の会の人達と私が太田さんに我が温泉の魅力は何か、お話しました。最後はカラコロ足湯でグループ写真。

「ここの温泉の魅力は何？」と言われると、「何もない」と言っちゃう癖のある人はいますよね。町おこしで一生懸命努力している人たちの頭が痛くなる。まあ、太田さんの記事を読めば、我々の最近の行事の結果を含めて、どんな魅力を伝えたか、分かると思います。

日経新聞の長野支局の記者、川名さんが新しく出来た戸倉上山田温泉の英語のレストランガイド・散歩地図の取材をしに来ました。昨夜に泊まったオーストラリア、シンガポール、フランスからのお客さんが地図を使って、戸倉上山田温泉の足湯へ出かけたという場面の写真を撮りました。フランスの二人がレストランガイドを使って、前日に焼き鳥屋さんで食べて(飲んで)来た。喜んでくれたようです。マップが役に立っていて、嬉しいです！

Nikkei Newspaper's Nagano staff writer, Kawana-san, came by to get some information on Togura Kamiyamada Onsen's new Gourmet Guide / Walking Map. Our guests, hailing from Australia, Singapore and France, used the map to navigate their way to the footbath in the middle of Kamiyamada Onsen. Kawana-san photographed them soaking their feet while peering at the map. The two from France had used the restaurant guide the night before to pick out a yakitori restaurant that they thoroughly enjoyed. I am so happy the map is proving useful!

インドネシアの生活雑誌「you&HOME」の文化・旅行の部分に亀清旅館の特集がありました。記者のＣｉｔａさんが取材しに来てくれましたので、3ページの特集を作ってくれました。

亀清は日本旅館代表として選ばれて、嬉しいですね。文書は読めないけど、写真で亀清の風情がでています。Ｃｉｔａさん、有難うございました！

Kamesei Ryokan was featured in the culture/travel section of you&HOME magazine from Indonesia. Their writer, Cita-san, came and stayed at our inn, and wrote up a 3-page article on Kamesei.

I'm not sure what the text says, but the pictures show Kamesei in an appealing fashion. I'm honored they choose Kamesei to represent Japan's ryokans. Cita-san, thank you for the great article!

先月に出来た戸倉上山田温泉の英語のグルメーガイド・散歩の地図は８月７日の「観光経済新聞」に掲載されました。レストラン２０件、お土産屋さんなどのお店２１軒の協力が集められた事と、外国人の目線で作られた事が注目されました。私が思いますが、これだけ外国人受け入れの店がそろえた温泉街は戸倉上山田ぐらいじゃないかと。

皆さんのマップつくり努力はその分の価値がありましたよね。

Togura Kamiyamada Onsen's new English Gourmet Guide / Walking Map was featured in the August 7th issue of the weekly Kanko Keizai Newspaper. Apparently the fact that so many businesses supported the making of the map -- 20 restaurants and 21 souvenir and other shops, plus the fact that it incorporated wo many features specifically for foreign travellers, were newsworthy enough to be featured. I think our onsen town is pretty unique in that we have so many shops and businesses interested enough in accepting foreign customers that they would financially support the making of this map.

It looks like all of the work that went into the map is paying off!

長野県旅館組合青年部の注目されている「まぁーず」料理のPRサイトに亀清旅館の板長のまぁーず作品が紹介されています。「まぁーずうまい唐揚げ」という一品です。まぁーずというのは、信州味噌と信州酒粕と信州漬物の合わせです。それぞれの宿や地域はそれぞれのレシピーです。詳しくはぜひ、県旅館青年部のHPをご覧になってください。

Nagano Prefecture's Ryokan Junior Association is trying to promote a new seasoning that we dubbed "Mahz". Kamesei Ryokan's Chef Takei created a karaage dish that uses his own unique Mahz sauce, and it is featured on the Ryokan Association's Mahz website. Mahz is a combination of Nagano Miso, Nagano sake "kasu", and Nagano tsukemono pickles, with each inn and region having their own versions. Check out the website for details.

昨日の読売新聞の長野版に私が入っているNInJAプロジェクトについての記事が載ると聞いていました。新聞を開いてみたら、清泉大の学生の練習で聞き取り調査されているところがイメージ写真として使われました。まさか私の顔がまた映ると思いませんでした。嬉しいような、せっかく忍者の演奏があったのでそちらの方が絵になるのに…　まあ、このインバウンドの活動のPRにさえなればいいと思っています。インバウンドの認識度アップ！

One of the members of our NInJA Project group advised that the Nagano edition of the Yomiuri Newspaper would have an article about our group's activities. So it was with a bit of excitement that I opened up the paper to find ... a picture of me getting practice-interviewed by two Seisen college students. Not that I mind the personal publicity, but we purposely had a couple of ninjas do a performance for the camera. Oh well, I don't have a problem with lending my face to the "inbound" cause.

NHK教育テレビは高校生向けの番組で、日本で活躍している外国人のコーナーがあるそうです。７月２７日の番組にこの青い目の若旦那を紹介してくれるそうです。昨日、今日はその札せいで来てくれました。竹田プロデューサー、ご苦労様でした！良いストーリになるように。
そして、偶然、今日の午後は峯竜太さんが来てくれました。地元のテレビ信州の夕方ゲット（You Gotta Get)という番組の取材で、本人の息子と千曲市に来ていました。息子さんが森の杏狩り、お父さんは戸倉上山田温泉の大衆演劇＠大勝館。お二人は汗をかいた後、温泉に入りたいと言い出した様で、峯さんの思い出になるお風呂、亀清旅館の露天風呂に入りに来てくれました。OAは７月８日だそうです。
こうやって戸倉上山田温泉のPRになって、嬉しいです！

National broadcaster NHK's Educational Channel has a program for high school students that occasionally features foreigners making an impact living in Japan. For the July 27th episode, they will be featuring the blue-eyed innkeeper, me! Takeda-san and his crew finished up 2 days of filming this morning. I wish Takeda-san luck in editing everything into a good "story".
Then this afternoon, TV and movie celebrity Ryuta Mine stopped by. He and his son were in town for local station TV Shinshu evening program. The son was shooting footage in Mori "Anzu-no-sato" picking apricots, while dad was enjoying the geisha drag show performance at Taishokan here in Togura Kamiyamada Onsen. They wanted to have an onsen bath after their hard (?) work, and Mine-san mentioned our outdoor bath here at Kamesei Ryokan. (He had cleaned it once as part of a previous program.)
So we did our part today to help promote Togura Kamiyamada Onsen!

今日の信濃毎日新聞にどこかで見た事がある顔が写っていました。この秋は私が亀清旅館の後継ぎとして戻ってきて５年間になるのでその間の活動についての記事です。インバウンドの事、祭りの事、戸倉上山田温泉の他の若旦那達との努力、などなど。どうぞ、今日の信毎で読んで御覧なさい。

Today's Shinano Mainichi daily newspaper had a familiar face in it. This fall will make 5 years since I moved here to take over Kamesei Ryokan. Shinmai's local reporter wrote a feature article on my achievements since then. Inbound, festivals, working with the other innkeepers of Togura Kamiyamada Onsen, etc., etc. Pick up a copy of today's Shinmai and check it out!
