ツツジが終わりかけ、今度アジサイが綺麗に咲いてきました。ついでに梅雨の雨が降ってきました。アジサイの落ち着いた色が梅雨になんとなく合っています。
The hydrangeas have started to bloom as if to take the place of the azalea flowers that have started to decline with the coming of the rainy season. The subtle colors of the hydrangeas seem to match the feeling of the rainy season.

日本の旅行と言えば、団体旅行が多いですね。そして、そのなかだはーどなスケジュールな旅も多いですね。でも、今日の団体が大した物ですよ。土佐から信州の一泊旅行でした。昨日は霧ヶ峰、今日は上高地と言う凄い予定です。皆さんがきっと疲れているから宴会が静かだろうと思ったら、逆に温泉のお陰かどうか知りませんがとってもにぎやかでした。なお且つ、お客様が土佐から鰹を持ってきました。私まで味見が出来ました。海の無い長野で｢２４時間前に海で泳いでいた｣と言う鰹を食べる機会がなかなか。。。　夜は姨捨の伝説・夜景ツアーに行く元気が無いだろうと思ったが念の為に誘ってみたら、３人が一緒に出かけてくれました。せっかく土佐から態々信州にいらっしゃれば、やはり姨捨のツアーぐらいのおもてなしが当たり前ですね。

今年の千曲川の鮎釣りのスタートです。あわせて、うちの板長が鮎の料理を始まりました。写真の一品：私の取って来たたけのこと。

The ayu fishing season on the Chikuma River has opened, and our chef has once again started preparing a delicious ayu dish, pictured here with a bamboo shoot that I picked.

戸倉上山田温泉がうんとカラフルになりました。あっちこっちにツツジが綺麗に咲いてきました。写真はうちの3ヶ月になった美咲ちゃんとのツーショットです。
Our town has come alive in colors thanks to the azaleas blooming. Pictured along with our pink azaleas is our daughter Misaki, now three months old.

お客さんの車を入れ直すのはいつも私の仕事です。でも、今日はびっくりしました。身長２ｍの私はどうやってこのミニに入れるか?!
Parking the guests' cars is always my duty. But today was a surprise. How is my 6'7" body supposed to fit in a Mini?!

日本全国が雨だそうです。戸倉上山田温泉とはその雨雲と周辺の山々がいい雰囲気になっています。
All of Japan is getting rained on today, and our town is no exception. The rain clouds are filtering through the surrounding mountatins, creating a surreal effect.

うちの親がシアトルから遊びに来てくれました。近状の友達とアメリカ風なバーベキューをしました。こういう国際交流が最高ですね。
Grandma and Grandpa came from Seattle to visit, and we held an American-style barbeque with the neighbors. This is 'international culture exchange' at its finest!

３月に生まれて、今日で精霊を受けました、我がの３人目の子供、美咲ちゃんです。
Our little Misaki, born in March, was baptised today.

戸倉上山田温泉にこの格好良いクライミングウォールが出来ました！と言っても、写真に写っている二人が小さい小学生（うちの息子との友人）なのでウォールが大きく見えるだけかもしれません。でも体験したい方は問い合わせをこちらへどうぞ。We have a new climbing wall in our town! Actually, the two pictured climbers are little 1st-graders so the wall just looks big in this picture. But if your interested in giving it a climb, feel free to contact us.

駅への送迎の途中でお客様に温泉街の側の笄渡しを案内致しました。風林火山にも関連する伝説を話しました。温泉街の近くにこんな歴史のある場所があって、嬉しいです。案内してもらいたかったら、是非声をかけて下さい
On the way to the train station, I took some guests to 'Kougai-watashi', a spot along the Chikuma River rich in local legends. I'd be happy to take you there, too, and share the history of our area.
