うちの親に約束しました:青い目の若旦那になることによって、実家から遠く離れるけどなるべく年に一度は会います。今年はまた子供たちの春休みに合わせて出かけました。
東日本の地震・津波・原発問題で日本から逃げるにはタイミングがいいといえばいいけど、必ず戻りますので宜しくね。「海外に行けば日本の良さが分かってくる」と私がいつも言っています。今回の旅にまた日米関係やカルチャーショックの話題を色々とリポートします。
一発目は成田空港でした。メキシコからのレスキューチームと行き会いました。テレビで津波などの現場をよく見るけど、この方々は実際に入り込んだ。尊敬・感謝します。
I promised my folks that I would try to see them once a year ever since we moved far from home town for me to become this American innkeeper here in Japan. Well, we're taking advantage of the kids' spring break and once again, flying to Seattle. Along the way I hope to report on more differences and similarities between Japan and the States in my constant quest to merge the best of both worlds.
First culture shock happened at Narita airport meeting the Mexican search and rescue team on their way back from the earthquake / tsunami sites. It wasa awe-inspiring to meet people like them who helped make a difference. I for one am truly grateful.
