Playing the flute in the rain
秋祭りのお神楽の二日間目。22日は天気で恵まれて、八阪神社の中秋際に参加しました。23日は朝から雨の波閉科神社の中秋際。
獅子笛は元々難しいですが、雨の中では更に大変だ。
でも、今年は私の参加がお神楽だけで良かった様な気がします。以前は相撲取りもしました。今年は、雨のせいで泥相撲になってしまいました。田植えの時の田んぼでの相撲取りの様。
午後は雨が止んで、お神楽が上山田温泉の中を巡りました。我が亀清旅館のロビーにも獅子舞がありました。そして、夜は波閉科神社に戻って、役員の提灯の光で最後の舞。
この日にお泊りになったお客様はロビーでの獅子舞、夕方の行列の笛の音、フィナーレの素朴な、幻想的な舞、さまざまの部分でこの秋祭りのお神楽を喜んで頂いた。

2nd day of local Fall Festivals. The 22nd was blessed with beautiful weather for Yasaka Shrine's festival. The 23rd, however, started out rainy for the beginning of the Habeshina Shrine festival. Playing the shishi flute is hard enough, let alone in the rain!
In the afternoon, the rain stopped just in time for our O-Kagura procession through the onsen town here in Kamiyamada. One of the stops along the way was Kamesei, for a shishi dance performance in our lobby.
Our guests for the night were fortunate to be able to see the shishi dance as well as here our flute music as we processed through the town. Some guests joined us at the shrine for the grand finale late in the evening. An unforgettable time for all.
