戸倉上山田温泉旅館組合青年部の総会が23日に開かれました。その時に、ホテル雄山の滝澤英雄さんが新しい青年部長になりました。これからの2年間は「温泉と音楽」という企画で戸倉上山田温泉を盛り上がって行くとの目標。楽しみにしているし、期待しています。

という事で、私の2年間の青年部長任期が終わりました。
父の日のサイクリングやハイキング、
射的大会、
畳作り体験、
温泉源泉巡り、
イカダ下り、
後輩の結婚式にて挨拶、
などなど、

沢山の良い思い出が出来、自分自身が成長してきたように思います。やりたいと思ったの半分ぐらいしかできなかった悔しさは残っているけど現実で何が出来るか出来ないかの良い勉強となりました。

この2年間に支えてくれた青年部に感謝♪　これから英雄さんに全面的に協力しましょう！

Togura Kamiyamada Onsen's Junior Ryokan Association has a new top. On the 23rd, our annual general meeting was held and Hideo Takizawa from Hotel Yuzan was chosen to lead for the next two years. His "Onsen and Music" project promises to be exciting.

So this means that my two years as leader are over. Looking back, there sure are a lot of good memories.

Getting to make a tatami mat,
Touring our onsen's wells,
Rafting down the Chikuma River
Giving a speech at one of our member's wedding,
and so much more.

I want to thank my fellow members for all their support these past 2 years, and would like to pledge my support and encouragement for Hideo-san for the next 2!

その開湯記念イベントは21日に開催された。

珍しい4月下旬の雪の為に会場は室内で千曲市観光会館で行われた。
豚汁ふるまいやらステインドグラスや陶芸作り、美味しいお茶の淹れ方レッスンなどの体験、
戸上スマイルズのチアーダンスや芸者衆、私達上山田神楽保存会の獅子舞などの演奏、
地元の市川先生の「温泉と健康」の講演、
シーバス素ポートクラブの転倒防止体操、
そしてそれぞれの旅館の提供での無料入湯、

大きいな記念イベントだった。私ども旅館のメンバーの主催だったので、気疲れのせいか、文書が少ないかもしれませんが様子を写真でお伝えたいと思います。

参加した皆様、有難うございました。これからは9月まで、毎月の26日(ふ・ろ・の日）は無料入湯がありますので、引き続きで宜しくお願いします。

戸倉上山田温泉の開湯記念(戸倉温泉120周年、上山田温泉110周年)で、無料入湯キャンペーンを開催します。亀清旅館を含めて、戸倉上山田温泉の30件の旅館とホテルは2013年4月から9月まで毎月の26日(ふ・ろ・の日）にお風呂を開放します。入湯時間は12:30～15:00までで受け付けは観光会館にて。

同時開催で千曲ブランドの商品の販売及び飲食店組合から「チョッコとサービス」の提供。

歴史的の戸倉上山田温泉はその歴史の記念で、入ってみたい宿のお風呂には入れましょう！もちろん、我が亀清旅館のお風呂にも大歓迎♪

In conjunction with Togura Kamiyamada's Anniversary Celebration (this year marks 120 years for Togura Onsen and 110 years for Kamiyamada Onsen), all 30 inns and hotels will be offering free onsen baths on the 26th of every month from April through September, 2013. Free baths will be available from 12:30 to 15:00 each day, with registration to take place at the Tourism Hall.

Come celebrate Togura Kamiyamada Onsen's history -- by taking a free bath in the inn or hotel of your choice! Of course, everyone is welcome to try Kamesei's baths, too!

11:00からは開会式、

11:45から13:10までは舞台で演奏
(11:45チアーダンスの戸上スマイルズ、12:05芸妓さんの舞踊、12:30かっぽれ踊り、12:55上山田神楽保存会の獅子舞）

そして場所を変えて、観光会館でイベントの続き:

13:50～14:30地元のシーバススポーツクラブによる「転倒防止体操教室」

当日は無料入浴も出来ますので、皆様のご参加をお待ちしております♪

This Sunday April 21st, Togura Kamiyamada Onsen will be celebrating its anniversary. Specifically, Togura Onsen's 120th, and Kamiyamada Onsen's 110th.

Starting at the main park in the middle of our onsen town, there will be an official opening ceremony followed by entertainment on the main stage (including our town's geisha performing at 12:05, and the lion dance group I belong to at 12:55). In addition, there will be pottery and stained glass making as well as a tea making class. There will be free 'tonjiru' pork soup, too!

Then the event will move to the Tourism Hall, with commemorative bandanas being handed out at 12:30, Chikuma Brand products for sale, a speech on onsen bathing and health by local doctor Ichikawa-sensei, and a lesson on exercise for the elderly.

The town's ryokans will be offering free baths for all participants as well!

Once again, the Ladies Guild set up a tent and sold various food and beverages at Chuo Koen Park, the main hanami (flower viewing) spot in our onsen town, Togura-Kamiyamada during this year's cherry blossom time. Kamesei's young proprietress, Mari, helped out at the tent this year, inspiring a haiku poem:

2013年の6月と9月の毎週土曜日はこの戸倉上山田温泉の地元の太鼓グループ、冠着太鼓は「サタデーナイト和太鼓」で夜8時半から演奏する。

水と緑…のある公園(カラコロ足湯の所）の能舞台で約1時間の演奏するそうです。途中で「ふれあい太鼓」で子供達も一緒に演奏が出来る。

6月は8日、15日、22日、29日(1日は休み）、
9月は7日、14日、21日、28日
の8回の開催となる。

戸倉上山田温泉の週末のお客さんを是非、この迫力のある冠着太鼓を楽しんで頂きたいと思っております。一緒に見に行きましょう！

Togura-Kamiyamada Onsen's own taiko drum group, Kamurikidaiko, has announced a Saturday Night Taiko Series of performances. They will play every Saturday night from 8:30pm for the months of June and September, 2013.

The one-hour performance will take place at the Stage in the Mizu to Midori park in the middle of our onsen town. It will include a chance for kids to come up on stage and try out the drums.

This is a great chance for weekend guests to Togura-Kamiyamada Onsen to get to see and here the energetic Kamuriki drummers. Won't you come and go see them with me?

２０１３年のイースターエッグフェスティバルin戸倉上山田温泉は4月6日に行われました。今年で第8回でしたが、大勢のお子さん達とそのご両親が集まって頂いて、大成功でした。千曲川沿いの公園で、御菓子入りのプラスチックの卵1000個を探したり、イースターのテーマのゲームをやったり、温泉の調理師会によるオムレツを食べたり、ゆで卵に色を塗ったり、さまざまな遊びでした。最後で温泉旅館組合の提供で参加者の皆さんは温泉入浴も楽しんで頂きました。

今年はフェスブックで情報発信したお蔭、小布施や妙高からの友人も来てくれて、今まで一番国際的だった。やはり、私達日本在中の欧米人たちはイースターの文化を私達の子供達に伝えたい。千曲国際交流協会のお蔭で、良い思い出になりました。スタッフの皆さん、ご苦労様でした！

The 2013 Easter Egg Festival in Togura-Kamiyamada Onsen took place on April 6th. Over a hundred children and their parents participated, making for a huge success. This being the 8th annual rendition, it once again took place at the park in front of the onsen town along the Chikuma River. Besides a massive, 1000-egg hunt, there were Easter-themed games, Easter egg coloring and omelets thanks to a couple of the ryokan chefs. After the festival, all the participants got to take onsen baths provided by the Togura Kamiyamada onsen ryokans.

This year thanks to spreading the word by Facebook, friends from as far as Obuse and Myoko brought their kids. We Westerners living in Japan appreciate this chance to share Easter fun with our children. I would like to give a big Thank You to the Chikuma International Exchange Association for putting on the event!

戸倉上山田温泉の隣の坂城町にさかき千曲川バラ公園があり、毎年はばら祭りが開催される。２０１３年の予定の情報が入りましたのでお伝えします:

250種・2000株は千曲川沿いのバラ公園でその甘い香りと美しい姿を楽しめる。

地元ねづみ大根のおしぼりうどんや
地元チョコレート工場「ロビーニア」さんの美味しいチョコなどの屋台もある。

Neighboring Sakaki Town is home to a wonderful rose garden that features an annual rose festival. The dates for 2013 have been announced, as follows:

8th Annual Sakaki Rose Festival
June 1st to the 16th, 2013
Sakaki Chikuma River Rose Garden
250 varieties and 2000 plants fill the air with their lovely scent.

There will be several booths set up including one serving the local specialty "Oshibori Udon" and one selling sweets from the nearby Lobenia Chocolate Factory.

The Sakaki Rose Festival is one of Mari's and my favorite outings for a date -- highly recommended!

さかき千曲川バラ公園 Sakaki Chikuma River Rose Garden

日本の小学校６年生の教科書に森将軍塚古墳が出るそうです。この貴重な復元された１６００年前からの古墳が戸倉上山田温泉から車で約２０分で、温泉にお越しになる際ついでに寄るのに便利。

そして、ちょうど森「日本一あんずの里」のあんずまつりやゴールデンウィークに合わせて、４月２日（火）から５月１２日（日）まで特別な企画展の予定がある。
「森将軍塚古墳の発掘調査と復原整備」が開催される。
森将軍塚古墳がどのように発掘調査をされ、復原整備され、
作られた当時の姿によみがえったのかの紹介だそうです。

注:　晴れている日なら古墳の上からの善光寺平の眺めがすごい！

Every Japanese schoolchild learns about the Mori Shogunzuka in their 6th grade textbooks. This recreated 1600-year old burial mound is only a 20 minute drive from our onsen town, Togura-Kamiyamada.

And just in time for this year's Mori "Apricot Village" apricot blossom festival as well as the Golden Week Holiday season, the museum at the base of the 'kofun' mound will be showing a special presentation of the work that went into recreating the mound. The presentation will take place from April 2nd to May 12th, 2013.

And as an added bonus, if you go to the mound on a clear day, you will be treated to a spectacular view of the Zenkoji Plain.

森将軍塚古墳 Mori Shogunzuka Museum

戸倉上山田温泉の地酒、姨捨政宗はまた今年に蔵開きをかいさいする。2013年は3月31日です。

去年は私の親が訪ねていたので連れて行きました。酒蔵の見学はなかなか出来ないので、とっても良い経験でした。
