姨捨の「田毎の月」で有名な棚田（戸倉上山田温泉から車で１０分）の田植えは始まりました。
今度の満月は５月１５日です。田んぼ毎にお月様の反射が見れるかな？
毎月の満月に姨捨の長楽寺で「満月ライブ」が行われます。主催者の宮城さんから：
「5月15日の長楽寺さんの満月ライブは18時から踊りです。その後、さらしな棚田バンドさん、吉川忠英さんのギターです♬

お掃除しに行ったら、まずはは雪をどける作業。
しかし、雪と温泉の両方を楽しめるぱらだいすになりました。

正直って、私はスキーがあまりやらない。その理由は身長が2メーターで、背の高いアメ人は大体バスケットをやるので、バスケのシーズンが冬です。自分は初めてスキーしたのはおそらく20歳のころ。
しかし、今は長野に住んでいるので、長野に住む限りではスキーをしないとルール違反です。
したがって、1月26日は二男を連れて、友人と一緒に菅平・大松で滑りました。
たまたま霧の日だったせいか、コースが短めだったせいか、ちょっと物足りんかった。軽い気持ちでスキーをするなら良いかもしれないけど、「年に一度の貴重なスキー旅」だったら、白馬や野沢温泉、志賀高原に叶わない様な気がした。
それでも、友達を滑れたから素敵な思い出になりました。
To be honest, I don't ski much. I am 2-meters tall, and for tall Americans, that means playing basketball. And hoop season in in the winter. So I grew up spending winters on the basketball court instead of the slopes. In fact, my first time skiing was when I was 20.
But since moving to Nagano, it would be a crime not to go skiing at least once a year. Hence I found myself with my son meeting up with a good friend at Sugadaira Ski Resort's Ohmatsu area.
Maybe it was the fog that day, or perhaps due to the shortness of the ski runs, but I was left wanting more. For someone making a casual ski trip, Sugadaira is nice and convenient. But for that once-a-year special ski outing, I'm afraid Nagano's world class resorts like Hakuba, Nozawa Onsen and Shigakogen are worth the extra hassle.
Thanks to being able to ski with friends, though, we were able to make some great memories.

この戸倉上山田温泉は色んな町興し運動の中で、ひとつは「滞在交流型観光の実証事業」です。同じ事業で四国の港町「須崎市」と石川県の老舗温泉地「あわら」も参加しています。須崎市とあわら温泉の町興しリーダー達が研修で戸倉上山田に来ました。ついでに、私達旅館青年部が周辺を案内しました。私が担当したのは地元の伝説の語り部。
でも、雪景色の棚田と姨捨駅は素晴らしかった！
しなの鉄道は今年、イベント列車を作る企画があって、そのデザインは発表されました： 真田幸村テーマの「ろくもん」。週末と祭日の中心で戸倉ー軽井沢ー長野ー軽井沢ー戸倉のルートを走るそうです。（時刻表はまだ整理中）
先月に九州に行った時に「ゆふいんの森」というイベント列車に乗ってきました。やり方によって、観光客の誘客には大きい影響があるかもしれません。
「ろくもん」は内装に長野県のパイン材をたっぷり使うそうで、木の温もりはきっとあるでしょ。
楽しみにしています。
Our local railroad company, Shinano Railway, released pictures of the event train they are planning on making this year. "Rokumon" is patterned after Sanada Yukimura, the famous samurai warlord of Ueda Castle.
Last month when I went to Kyushu, I got the chance to ride the popular Yufuin no Mori event train. It made me realize such trains could have a favorable impact on drawing tourists.
'Rokumon' is scheduled to use lots of Nagano-grown pine wood for the interior. I love the warm feel that wood gives -- it should make for a fun train experience!

戸倉上山田温泉の観光会館にクラシックな写真があります。千曲川を渡る長さ300メーターの万葉橋に芸妓さん達が並んでいる写真です。全300メーターですよ！数えきれないぐらいな人数。1960年代でしょ。戸倉上山田のピークです。
今は芸妓さん達25人ぐらいまで減りましたが、残っている皆様がその伝統を守っています。

In the Tourism Hall here at our onsen town Togura-Kamiyamada there is a classic picture of the town's geisha lined up along the length of Manyo Bridge. The bridge is over 300 meters long, so there literally must have been hundreds of geisha then.
The picture is probably from the 1960s, when Togura Kamiyamada was at its peak.
Today there are about 25 geisha preserving the proud tradition.
1月14日に松本市の美ケ原温泉でＩＴコンサルタント山口 康雄氏のセミナーが開催された。長野県の青年部の皆さんと参加してきました。
内容はWindowsＸＰが4月1日以降サポートされない問題から始め、「ＩＴに強い経営者」のトレーニングでした。
亀清旅館の公式ＨＰは今年、更新する予定ですが、山口氏のそもそもＨＰは何の為か？との話が耳に残っています。
＊集客？
＊ブランディング？
＊業務効率化？
＊お客さんとの対話？
そして、「押す」宣伝（広告、ＦＢ）と「引っ張る」宣伝（ＨＰなど）の組み合わせが大事だと。
宿のおもてなしはＨＰから始まるという事もあるので、山口氏のアドバイスを取り組みながら亀清のＨＰを改善したいと思っています。皆様のご指摘をどうぞ、教えてください。
