上山田神楽保存会はと今日、お出かけしてきました。上田市の御所苑という老人ホームへ行って、誕生日のお祝いの為に獅子舞をやりました。お２人が１００歳以上で、その内の１人が１０５歳でした！元気で頑張っていますね。お神楽がこういうことで活躍していて、私もメンバーになって嬉しいです。
Our town's Okagura Lion Dance Preservation group went on a field trip today to Ueda City to perform at an old-folks home. We helped celebrate the birthdays of a couple of centenarians, including one lady who turned 105 years old. I am grateful to be able to participate in the Lion Dance group with their activities like this!

一昨年に私が上山田神楽保存会に入らせて頂きました。そのころ、もう１人の新しいメンバーが戸倉の方から入りました。「川の向こうから！」と、皆が騒ぎました。私が入ったら、「海の向こうから！」ともっと騒いだ。今度、もう一人の新しいメンバーが入りました：清水さんという女の人です。女性として入るのはなかなか珍しいようです。さすが積極的の上山田お神楽！来週は上田市の老人ホームで披露する予定です。
About the same time I joined Kamiyamada's Okagura Lion Dance Preservation Assoc., there was another new member who came from Togura. Everyone was pleasantly surprised: "A member from the other side of the river!" When I joined, it was another surprise: "A member from the other side of the ocean!" Now, our newest member brings another suprising element to the group: Shimizu-san is ... a lady! That's apparently pretty rare. I think it's great our group is so open-minded. Next week we are going to take the show on the road and perform at a nursing home in nearby Ueda City.

文化祭のついでに上山田お神楽保存会(私がメンバー)が寄ってくれました。せっかくですから、新しく出来た露天風呂のお祓いしていただきました。
Today is 'Bunka (Culture) Day' in Japan, and the Lion Dance troup (of which I'm a member) performed this morning. They stopped by our inn afterwords, and I had them bless our newly-made outdoor bath.

この間、とっても楽しいお客様が来てくれました。オーストラリアからのマイクさんとスザーンさん。夜は私のお神楽の獅子笛練習に突然誘ったら、話に乗ってくれて一緒に行きました。そうすると、お神楽の皆さんがこの明るい二人と盛り上がって、最高な国際交流になりました。
We recently had the pleasure of hosting these two adventuresome Aussies. Out of the blue, I invited Mike and Susanne to go with me to my lion dance flute practice. They jumped at the opportunity and had a blast with the Okagura gang. The gang had a blast with them, too!
