亀清旅館の休みの日に子供達と夕食を食べに出かけました。

こういう貴重な時間で何処のレストランにするか、悩みました。まずは国道沿いの人気チェイン店と思ったが、安くて良いけど混んでいた。それじゃ家族タイムとしてはゆっくり出来なさそう。

そこで、千曲市の一番美味しいピザ屋さん、ラ・フォレに思い付いて、行ってみた。家庭的なお店で、こだわりのイタリア風なピッツァ。美味しく頂きながら家族で楽しく語り合って、良い思い出となった。

小さな、アットホーム的なお店が良いね。

旅館の世界もそうかな？

On a rare evening off from the inn, we took our children to go out for dinner. Since it's not often we get to eat out as a family, we wanted to find some place special.

First we headed to a popular place on the main highway, one that's part of a chain of yakiniku restaurants. But it was so crowded, even though it would have been inexpensive there was no way we could have had a meaningful dinner together.

So we headed over to La Foret, a family-run pizza restaurant in Chikuma City's Yashiro district. Gourmet Italian-style pizza in a warm, friendly environment. We enjoyed La Foret's creative cuisine and the chance for some memorable family time.

Small, family-run restaurants are so rewarding.

Maybe it's the same thing for onsen inns, too?
