Mari at Cafe de Campagne's Entrance
軽井沢の個性的、美味しいレストランは沢山あって、以前にも何店か紹介いたしました。今回は先日に若女将と一緒に行ったカフェ・ド・カンパーニュを紹介します。
場所は非常に分かりつらい、
冬は閉まっていて、
それ以外はお昼しかやってなくて、
日・月が休みになっちゃう、
一日は１０人ぐらいしか受けれない、
メニューは決まったコースしかない、
と言うこだわりの強いお店です。じゃ、誰が行くか?と思われるでしょう。軽井沢は別荘地でコンクリートジャングルの東京からお越しになる方にはこういう個性的なお店は人気がある。やっている時間帯をメニューを絞るお蔭で、感動に当たるお料理を出しているから。
若女将とパティオで食べましたので庭を眺めながらと言うより、庭の中で食べれて、なお良かったです。軽井沢に良い思い出になりました。
チェイン店のレストランはいつでもどこでも食べれるけど、軽井沢に行けばせっかくですからカフェ・ド・カンパーニュみたいなお店を見つけた方がお勧め。
As previously mentioned on this blog, Nagano's resort town, Karuizawa, has an abundance of unique, gourmet restaurants. On our latest 'date' to Karuizawa, Kamesei Ryokan's proprietress and I checked out one of those gems: Cafe de Campagne.
With Cafe de Campagne's out-of-the-way, hard-to-find location,
and being closed during the winter months,
and only operating Tuesday through Saturday,
and only being open for lunch,
and only accepting around 10 guess per day
and offering only 1 set menu,
one would think, "Who the heck would go there?"
Well, Karuizawa is 'home' to a lot of vacation and summer homes. People from Tokyo come up to escape the heat and the concrete to relax in here. Those are the types of people who appreciate unique spots like Cafe de Campagne. Mari and I were certainly glad we found it. We were seated at a table on the patio. It felt like we were having a picnic in the garden. A very classy picnic.
So if you come to Karuizawa, skip the big chain restaurants and seek out one of the unique gems.
