年に２回ぐらい、地元の上山田小学校に半分ボランティアーで英語の手伝いをしております。せっかく英語を喋れるので地元の学校に貢献したいと思っています。普段に教えていないから慣れていない部分がありますが、一年生の笑顔を見れば楽しんで頂いたようです。英語の言葉だけではなく、日米関係のふれあいにもなりました。子供達のものの見方がちょっとでも広くなってくれたら嬉しいです。
Around twice a year, the local elementary school asks me to come and help out with their English classes. It's an opportunity for me to contribute to the local school kids, so I gladly assist. I don't teach on a regular basis, so I'm sure my technique could use some improvement. But judging by the smiles on the first graders faces, I'd say the lesson went well. Besides introducing some English words, we also did a Q&A session about America. I hope I helped broaden their world view by a little bit.
